The threat of global climate change is real and perhaps even existential. With the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21 or CMP11) scheduled to take place in Paris in November and December, 2015 could well be a pivotal year. The goal of the conference is nothing less than a legally binding agreement among all the nations of the world. This panel will explore the threats climate change poses to communities around the globe, possible ways to mitigate such disasters on the grassroots and policy levels, and the likelihood of any such actions being
taken. It will also examine international law’s role in multilateral solutions and the limits of this framework.
